The Arbor Day Foundation has tons of resources for people looking to get involved with tree-loving activities like tree planting, caring for trees and parks and fighting for tree conservation. Now More Than Ever, Christians Are Getting Involved in Green Living

EverydayChristian.com is featuring an article describing how more Christians are participating in Earth Day now than in the past, when the holiday was seen as "too liberal". In fact, there are several Christian websites that encourage green living, including The Blessed Earth and Christians and Climate, just to name a few. Both sites have lots of information on how to protect the planet, not just on Earth Day, but everyday!

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 is Earth Day!

This year, Earth Day will not only be the day that we honor the environment through initiatives that promote a clear Earth, but it will also mark the beginning of The Green Generation Campaign, which will culminate in 2010 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day! Here’s a list of programs that you can get involved with to serve the environment, or you can post your own Earth-friendly volunteer opportunities at ChristianVolunteering.org!

Saturday, March 28, 2009 at 8:30PM – Vote Earth With Your Light Switch

Sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund, Earth Hour 2009 is your opportunity to vote with your light switch. Lights off means that you’re voting for the Earth. Lights on means that you’re voting for global warming. Big choice, right? The results of this vote will be presented to official goverment officials at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. Will My Children Have to Become Vegetarians?

I love to eat meat. I’m from Kansas City where we love to BBQ everything.   There have been times in my life when I consistently ate at least a pound of meat a day.  So let me tell you, that I’m frightened by the idea that in the future becoming a vegetarian might be increasingly an issue of justice, but that may be what happens over the next century.

So he and his partners at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers embarked on a greentech world tour — surveying the state of the art, from the ethanol revolution in Brazil to Wal-mart’s (!) eco-concept store in Bentonville, Arkansas. KPCB is investing $200 million in green technologies to save the planet — profitably. But, Doerr fears, it may not be enough.

The Meatrix 2.5

We are sure that all of this is social justice related, but it’s really funny.  Moopheus–you have to love that.  Anyway, it makes a good point about workers’ rights in the meat packing industry while making you laugh, so it’s a winner with us.  Check out the Meatrix 1 and 2 also, but this was our favorite.
