Water.org Featured in Esquire Magazine

The new Esquire Magazine has a feature piece on Water.org, the organization run by 2009 Skoll social entrepreneur Gary White that was formed earlier this year when Gary’s Water Partners International merged with Matt Damon’s H20 Africa Foundation.  The article gives the background on how the two came together and has some great quotes that speak to Gary’s strong reputation in the field. (Kyle (Matt’s brother) raises a glass to White. “Gary,” he says, “I want you to know that Matt’s been looking for somebody like you for a very, very long time.”) It also looks at the issue of using celebrity for social change, pointing out both the upsides and downsides.  Another good line from the piece: Matt is willing to let a reporter tag along with him to India. He’ll offer himself up, but only as part of a package deal, one that includes Gary White.
