sometimes I wonder at what consequence am I holding on to the comforts I have in this life. I feel God is calling me to press in and run in opposition to our cultures standards. Do I really need an Ipod? How about the newest gadget? How can we rally together to stop supporting the sinful ways of life handed down to us...we don't even know what we are really doing? Kids are dying of starvation...read Rich Christians in an age of hunger by Ron Sider if you really think you know a thing or two about doing justice.

Scripture is clear. The flesh is weak. The haves want to retain it and tend to blame the poor for their status.

This is excellent and very thorough. This really encourages me to examine my actions toward the poor. I know it's definitely not enough to think about it, but I need to be finding ways to do something about it, in Jesus name.
