What if all that we have been blessed with really was the Lord's? How would that change the way we think, act, and spend?

In response to tithing I hear this one all time. "I don't have any money but if I did I would tithe...Or as soon as I get out of debt I will tithe...Or God has blessed me so that I can bless others. God wants me to make as much money as I can so I can give it away."

Convenient. If you don't have money you probably don't work. How about giving away your time. What if life was a gift given each day by God?

Why are you in debt is it legitamite ie. an emergency or was the emergency that pair of designer jeans?

The last one kills me...God is not in debt he owns cattle on a thousand hills. He does not need our money. So just giving money doesn't let you off the hook. And how many times do I see that person that is such a giver live in a million dollar home, with a 70 inch plasma, and a porsche truck. Such rampant consumerism in the Christian culture is disgusting...If God really called you to be such a giver and he could certainly do that. He is God. Do something crazy give it all away. See what he does...
